Pre-Incident Emergency Planning as a use case

Are any system users capturing scans in support of pre-incident emergency plans for public safety?

Both the floor plan and immersive walk through could be of benefit to responders to gain situational awareness when responding to events/incidents at high risk occupancies.

Has anyone exploited this capability successfully?

Have attempted a few contacts and have created a market piece but, no bites yet. They do seem to have their own 3D equipment for accidents and such. But not interested in situational preparation. I know for a fact that one of my contacts presented the opportunity for a free demo. This was offered to all city departments and, no one took me up on it.
We keep at it,

I am familiar with the forensic use case and actually bought the system for fire investigations, occured to me that it would be a quick and easy way to capture floor plans for pre-plans, evac routes, etc. Thanks for responding.

As a former Paramedic I don’t see any use for this for responders during a response. There’s no time and little benefit. I do however see a lot of potentail for pre-incident emergency planning for facilities and also for advance documentation of a property for the possibility of a future catastrophic loss insurance claim.

Chris: In fire and law enforcement detailed preplans accurately reflecting building layout are essential to safe, timely, and efficient outcomes.

To me this tool represents a simple, easy, fast way to capture that data and could be easily linked to map books and other tactical data sets for use in the field.

Think of a complex or target hazard you may have responded to, and the ability to see where critcal components are might be of great benefit; would you rather commit teams to enter and search blindly in a complex space or have a well detailed layout?

Thanks for responding back.

I agree with your assessment about using iGUIDE for emergency planning and response. I have attempted to talk to my city’s Director of Public Safety, though he seems disinterested.

I approached him about having tours and floor plans of the local schools in case of an active shooter. Like you state above, in the field this could be invaluable for having “eyes in the building”.

I haven’t attempted to contact schools directly, though that may be a good next step.
