outdoor scans with upstairs

Today I was scanning a 2 story residence. When I got done with the upstairs I decided to take some more shots of the outside front. I forgot to put those scans on the first floor. Is it ok to just copy and past the scans from the upstairs to the downstairs?

Hi Charles,

Yep with stitch it’s as easy as that! (I drag and drop between floors, you’ll need to align them once there). Another approach is to upload as is with those scans removed or hidden, and once the iGUIDE is delivered, you can request an update with just the additional scans. Using Stitch is by far the easiest, good luck and reach out to our support team if you need hands on help or more clarity!

I have another question Brad, some of the out door scans that are with the upstairs, has the same file number as some of the scans for the downstairs. Should I rename these files?

Nope! It shouldn’t cause an issue as you can have scans with the same number on the same floor.

If I have the first project already loaded into stitch, could I just upload the missing rooms on each floor or would I have to download the entire project over and start from scratch.

If your project is already open in Stitch, you don’t need to start from scratch, as long as you save your current progress first.

To add the missing rooms, you’ll need to use Windows Explorer or Mac Finder to copy the scan folders (or entire floor folders) from one project into another. Additional scans can’t be uploaded directly into Stitch, so this step must be done through your file manager.

Folder structure is important when doing this:

  • Scan folders must be placed inside a floor folder
  • Floor folders must be placed inside the main project folder
  • If there are any naming conflicts, be sure to rename folders so each one is unique

Once the missing scans are added correctly, you can reopen the project in Stitch and continue working without having to start from scratch.
