Hello. Has anyone done an iGuide floor plan of a 1200 sq ft 25 room motel where the rooms are only accessable from the outside? I’m not quite sure how to do it.
I’ve encountered something similar to this… and wanted to avoid the manual alignment of all the rooms that weren’t connected.
(Assuming these are all on the same level…) I started by scanning the entire first room. Then scanned in the middle of the exterior doorway, then put my tripod another 2-3 feet away from that scan so that the interior and exterior scans lined up. Then moved my tripod 5-6 feet towards the next entrance at a time or until I got to the next exterior door. I scanned in the middle of the doorway again, and proceeded to scan the entire room again. Then repeat the process.
Hope this makes sense.
That does make sense and gives me a really good idea of how to do it. It’ll be a lot of scans. Thanks a lot.
I’m glad!
Even though it makes a lot of scans. It takes a ton of post work out! Once you’ve done those “alignment scans” I’ll call them. You can make your walk points for the virtual tour and hide the rest.
The one thing I have encountered with properties that have similar sized rooms, like your motel rooms, is the the scans will at times pile up on one another, I think because Survey thinks they are the same room.
Using the technique @EvanH describes should work well.
