It would be interesting to introduce on the portal the possibility of modifying external elements such as balconies and terraces etc., so that once they have been detected with other tools they can be represented with the exact dimensions and exact surface area.
I have been asking for something like this for years. I would like the ability to modify the floor plan in order to make it better. Even if I couldn’t change the walls, at least I should be able to alter the drafter’s first effort at tracing decks and patios, or change the choice they made on where the dining room ends and the living room begins, etc.
Just this week I made an effort to take a pano on both outside corners of a patio so that it could be accurately traced. The drafter completely ignored my panos and seemed to eyeball a rough tracing of the patio. It is very clearly not accurate, so I would never turn on the dimensions for that outside space. BUT, I feel like since I made the effort to accurately measure that patio I should be able to more accurately change the tracing on my own. These sorts of things happen every single week for me, and I often end up sending out floor plans that I am not fully satisfied with.
I have found that after I scan a patio I lower my iGuide so that the lidar is hitting the rail (as much as possible). Those panos are hidden, but the lidar info is there for the drafters. Or if it’s a square/rectangle without much of a rail, I keep a Bosch laser in my kit and get dimensions for the drafter’s notes.
so you provide a drawing with the measurements of the balcony and they draw it correctly for you?
