issues with site plans and error fixing

I tried my first site plan this week. My client was very excited for it and was hoping to add it on to all of their shoots (I do 3-4 a week for them in peak season). Unless there are some changes, I do not think that will happen. The issues I have are:

  1. It was advertised that the whole site would be drawn - areas that I scanned were ignored, making the lot look much smaller than it is.

  2. rooflines are missing to show the deck areas under them. I believe it would be better to keep the covered decks/patios on the floor plan and show the whole roof line on the site plan.

  3. navigation into and out of the house is disorienting. When you click to “walk” into the house, you are spun around facing out the door, conversely, when you “walk” out, you spun around and then face into the house.

right after getting the draft finished on Tuesday, I filed an error fix and it took until Wednesday end of day to get a reply saying some of the errors(there was more than I listed here) were fixed. Nothing had been done. I sent some clarifications and a video showing the issue and heard back Thursday morning, that the issue would be sent to the drafters. It is now Thursday afternoon with nothing done.

My client now has a site plan that misrepresents the property, the floorpan now doesn’t show the decks that are covered and part of the living space with outdoor kitchen etc and extremely important to a luxury property floor plan. It has been 2.5 days since asking for a fix and nothing! Plantar, Your customer service and error fixing has been on a downward spiral and is getting increasingly frustrating. I realize there will be some growing pains with a new add on, but you have to get better at fixing errors. Your slow error fixing makes us look bad to our clients!

Hi Joe, super valuable feedback you’ve provided here - I’m glad you shared it. We are in the early days of Hi Joe, the feedback you’ve provided here is super valuable - I’m glad you shared it. We are in the early days of our site plans feature and the feedback customers provide helps us shape and refine it in future iterations, allowing it to deliver the most value to them and their customers.

Let me look into your ticket and respond to you directly there but to comment on your points,

  1. The whole property should be drafted. Assuming you have scans there, we have good 3rd party aerial data available, and the land is associated with the property, it should be there.

  2. I agree with your perspective that roof lines should remain intact as it’s more visually appealing and likely the most widely expected behaviour.

  3. Your comment about navigation was actually escalated through our org today - it’s a really good point. When floor gates were initially introduced, the issue was that there wasn’t always a pano near the other end of the stairs, so it would be a little disorienting. We made the decision then to always face it back towards the way you came (when travelling through the gate), so you always had context when you arrived. Our product team will review this behaviour and evaluate the best approach moving forward.

As far of the customer experience goes (both yours and your customers) that’s what we care the most about. I’m sorry we didn’t deliver for you in this scenario and we’ll be looking into how we can improve moving forward.

It’s good that you’re providing Planitar with this feedback.

I haven’t yet done any site plans (mostly because of our current snow cover), but I hope whatever growing pains occur with them are sorted out quickly. Given that it’s a new product I expect there will be issues to be ironed out – but I’m sure they will be.
