How do it get a quick and basic SketchUp-ready point cloud model for the small fee, instead of hundreds of dollars for a full Revit model and 5 days processing timer? I am in the A & D business and will primarily use the R1 for scanning as-built spaces. For larger jobs I will submit for base drawings and a Revit model and pass on the billing to the Client, but for small analysis areas I just need the 3D point cloud so I can model it up myself in SketchUp. I can’t find a defined explanation of this anywhere. Thanks!
Hi Mike,
Quick reminder that we don’t offer a 3D point cloud, but based on the information provided, I would suggest 2 different deliverables
-
Radix - This is the raw point cloud data of all floors you capture. It’s provided in DXF file format, and you should be able to open it in many CAD software and draft over. The benefit here is that you’ll also get a 3D virtual tour.
-
Standard or Premium iGUIDE + DWG add-on - this provides a 3D virtual tour with a drafted floor plan (iGUIDE), a DWG for each floor you captured (great starting point that might save you some time) plus the DXF files of the raw capture data mentioned above.
More information and sampled can be found on this page - https://goiguide.com/design-construction

The Iguide only scans at one height, so no real pointcloud. For revit models they extract heights of elements using the pictures.
If you want full blown pointclouds you’ll need a “real” laser scanner.
