Drafting turnaround times dashboard

On Friday I submitted a property for drafting. By 7 PM Saturday – over 24 hours after uploading the Stitch data to Planitar – the property had still not been drafted and my client was messaging asking for an update. I opened a support ticket, knowing that it was a weekend and I probably wouldn’t get an answer until Monday. (What else could I do?)

Later that evening, I did eventually receive the drafted results. But being caught on a Saturday night not being able to give a client an accurate answer about when they would receive the results that they are contractually bound to list that day is an uncomfortable feeling.

Can we please have some type of dashboard status for drafting on the iGuide Portal that includes some or all of:

  • A current drafting timeline. e.g. anticipated turnaround 4-6 hours.
  • A simple color-code quickly indicating drafting operations status. e.g. light (yellow), normal (green), heavy (red)
  • An intelligent descriptive status. e.g. we are experiencing delays but are still drafting.

In scenarios like Saturday, this would give us enough information to communicate with our clients rather than being oblivious to what’s happening with drafting.

Agreed. That would be VERY helpful Leroy.
From my experience, this suggestion would also be helpful if it could applied to the “corrections” department as well. I had a similar experience waiting for what should have been a relatively easy correction to be made on a floorplan. I had submitted a stitch file to be fully processed around the same time and received that back in the usual quick turnaround, but it was many hours later before the correction was completed on the previous submission. I was told that the corrections are a separate department from the drafters (which makes no sense to me) and that the corrections department was short staffed that day.
So yeah, if they do implement this feature, it would be nice to see it on the corrections side as well. Especially considering that the client has already waited for the original turnaround and is now waiting again for any drafting corrections.

Good point. As operators, we should have relevant status and updates for drafting and updates/corrections so that we’re not relying on a black hole.

This 100%. I’m waiting on a simple draft change and it is taking forever. Would be nice to be able to tell my client approximately how long this is going to take.

I had the same issue, saturday submitted and it was over 24hrs before i got anything back. Client was not happy at all.

Agreed. Currently waiting on a revision. I’ve created a ticket, sent several messages just looking for an indicator of it was received and maybe a timeframe. A dashboard would be perfect. Or just better communications. I’m m new to iguide and so far support communication is lacking.

I agree!! I have had some drafts come back an hour later when I didn’t expect it (a good problem to have) and some take over 24hrs.
