I just bought this stand thanks to this post - it’s a great idea. This tripod comes with a 1/4" male that fits directly into the Planix. However, I chose to buy an adapter to 3/8" so I can put on a ball head with quick mount. I didn’t like the idea of “screwing” the Planix on and off everytime. Hope that helps!

I have seen this tripod from Revolve-Tec - it compacts ever so small and seems to be pretty sturdy and reliable. It has rollable legs which is pretty cool to help with the compactness.
